Being a teenager is hard at times, we deal with all the normal things; exams, relationships, friendships, school and stress. But on top of this we have to deal with fashion. Each of us try and have are own style, we can either be ridiculed for it or praised for it. But either way it’s hard for us; if we get ridiculed there is more than likely going to be a social stigma or stereo type attached to you; you wear skinny jeans - your emo, you wear sports branded clothing, you’re a chav. Many people judge us on what we wear, even if they don’t know us, many of them don’t look twice if your outfit is not fashionable, and cool.
There is many unpublished rules for our teenage fashion, you cant wear anything remotely the same as any one else and you have to have a completely different outfit for every occasion. What happened to the times when it didn’t matter if what you wore was not ‘in’ and ‘up to date’?
In an ideal world everyone would have their own style and opinions about fashion and the fashion world. In my opinion, real fashion is when an individual person expresses their personality, feelings and ambitions in what they wear. It doesn’t have to be liked, surely the thing that really matters is how that certain person feels when they wear their clothes and outfits? Who cares if it’s liked or not?
